My students have a huge responsibility in fifth grade. There is so much for them to learn and they need many different tools in order to accomplish this. My children have many challenges working against them but not having the proper classroom materials should not be one of them. With a current district wide funding deficit, supplies budgets are low. Our kids deserve to have the same opportunities to learn as their counterparts in more affluent areas. I teach the inclusion classes of students and my students have many different needs. These needs don't stop them! They are excited to learn and participate in their own learning. They are driven and have the desire to succeed. It is my job to give all of my students those same opportunities to learn and grow regardless of their ability levels.
