My 8th grade students come from a variety of backgrounds and their abilities vary. They are from a public middle school, in Alaska. We have 800 students in our school. We have a large population of students who receive free or reduced lunches. Our school received 4 stars out of 5 on our last school evaluation. The areas that were identified as needing improvements were connecting to the community and student engagement.
