The reading kits will help my students respond to text. In 5th grade, students need to provide evidence from the text to support reading comprehension. The high-interest passages will help keep them on task. Students in my class range from the first to the fifth grade. Many levels are needed to reach all learners. The variety of text levels will help the students fill in learning gaps. The math games will engage the students regardless of their skill level. Most of my students do not have the math fluency needed to be successful in 5th grade math.
