My students consist of elementary students in an urban setting. We have 90% African American and 10% Hispanic students. Most of whom are not able to afford school supplies. They are very energetic and love art because it gives them a release from all the stress of testing and academic studies. I like to be able to provide students with all necessary materials so that they do not feel obligated to not participate due to lack of materials. I want the students to worry about what they can create rather than what they don't have.
