I am a Speech-Language Pathologist in an inner city district with high caseload numbers and limited access to materials. I provide direct therapy to students with varying disabilities and impairments. I spend my mornings providing services to the community based preschools, and my afternoons, at an elementary school. Within the school, there are two self contained rooms comprised of children with Autism with significant language deficits. Many of these students are nonverbal and have a very difficult time expressing their wants and needs, interacting with others, and participating effectively within the classroom setting.
