I currently have twenty-one 4-year old students that are all on target developmentally and very excited to learn new things. Over half of the class is ready to learn to read and write but struggle with staying focused when it comes to whole group activities. They struggle because they cannot “see” what I am showing them on our iPads. My students are eager to learn, but struggle to grasp concepts in reading, writing, and math at whole group instruction time. Demonstration of the task often happens during whole group time, and many become disengaged because they simply cannot see the activity.
