In each dance class, there are two sections - advanced and beginning. The students in the class is a demographical reflection of the larger comprehensive high school student population. The class is a heterogeneous mix of language learners, special ed, varying socio-economic statuses, and cultural backgrounds. Despite the diverse group, they all come together at the count of "5, 6, 7, 8." Our school is located at the edge of Silicon Valley and continuously growing in population with each newly welcomed freshman class. Some students are excited to be in the class bringing along a history and passion for dance. Other students have only danced in the privacy of their own homes and are ready to venture out and experience a true dance class experience. However, by the end of the year, all students can reflect back to the start of the year and be proud of their accomplished goals and development.
