The pre-teens at my inner-city school would benefit greatly from physical activity that would help them stay focused, alert, and ready to learn in the classroom. I teach 5th grade in a low-income urban community. Fifth graders, at ages 9-11, are in need of physical activity to promote energy, mental alertness, and self-esteem that so often accompanies physical fitness.
