First grade students need a strong foundation in literacy. Some of these materials will be used during guided reading, such as dry erase boards and magnetic letters, to provide targeted instruction to my students on various reading levels. The book bins will provide students with a place to store books on their individual reading level to practice reading skills. The literacy manipulatives, such as letter strings and sight word books, will be used during literacy centers to give students a hands-on opportunity to practice skills. By providing these materials for my students, I will help them to be successful and grow as readers!
