My students are all working towards their diploma at a public high school. Most have learning disabilities, while others may have ADHD or physical or emotional disabilities. Basically, these students take longer to learn concepts, and need material to be presented in a variety of ways. My students usually are working below grade level in math and in language arts, which prohibits their involvement in basic lab classes because these students usually can't prove their knowledge in the same way as other students. They usually need to show their understanding through other means, orally or through demonstration. Many of my students have learned over the years that their education is different, that the same resources are not used for their classes, and that they don't get to be exposed to the same curriculum as their non-disabled peers.
