For many of my students, school is the only place where they have the opportunity to read books on their individual reading levels, and to learn to appreciate literature for the sheer pleasure of it. We are in an extremely diverse community and many of my students are learning to read in English for the first time. Our staff works hard to create an enriched, safe learning environment with appropriate texts, despite funding challenges for high interest, low level books of interest.

About my class
