My students are very visual learners. Visualization is the most important skill in playing chess. It is evident that their learning capacity has been enhanced by spending their spare time playing chess. Their very inquiring minds demand of me a strong purpose to guide their thinking-process in the right direction. I witnessed my students focus, attentiveness, persistence and strategic planning improve as a result of playing chess. Their self confidence have also been elevated as a result, and so has their competitive spirit. More chess sets will invite, accommodate and benifit all the students who have shown interest in order to learn to play, but have had to be placed on a waiting list .
