My students are of a low socio-economic background, which we know can lead to bad eating habits, bad life choices and health issues as adults. They like when a teacher uses technology to get the lesson across to them. As physical educators, we are always striving for them to buy into lifelong fitness. We encourage them to participate in many activities (i.e. sports and clubs) but due to the environment most parents want them home early. They have limited play areas or parks in the community and because of that, they enjoy being active in rigorous (yet fun) activities. But in order for them to create the behaviors for long term fitness activities, we need a hook. With that, our students will take ownership of their education and be of a sound body, mind and soul.
