Our school is located in a low income neighborhood in Northern California. Many of my students come to school happy, but have experienced a lot of trauma in their lives. They enjoy 'losing' themselves in books, pretending to act out stories, and getting to know characters in familiar books. Many of my students do not do extra curricular or enrichment activities, I want to give them these opportunities in the books that they read.
