My students learn and grow through various means of play. Our playground this year is missing tricycles. It is important for my students to learn to pedal and steer a tricycle. It increases their overall gross motor skills including coordination, balance, and strength. It also gives them the opportunity to practice turn taking skills, patient waiting, and initiating conversations with their peers. Unfortunately, at an end-of-year after school event, our tricycles disappeared and have yet to be found. I look forward to this school year being as great as the past ones, and having tricycles will benefit my kids in many ways.
