Students with no or limited proficiency in the English language face not only the typical learning concerns, but also deal with the frustration of being silenced by their inability to understand lessons and communicate with the teacher. There is a vast amount of online materials students can use to translate, communicate and become engaged in the classroom. I am a Science teacher and my students are hungry to know more about the world around them. Access to what is needed to help my students is limited due to financial restraints. The Microsoft Surface Go will allow me to give students access to digital vocabulary, virtual experiences and a better understanding of what their English speaking classmates are hearing and learning. The Microsoft Surface Go will enable my Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic and Vietnamese speaking students master curriculum and shine their brightest!
