My students produce a Morning News Show for our school. In addition, they produce commercials, short films, music videos and documentaries.
Using a boom microphone kit will allow my students to record audio while being more creative with their camera angles. They will not have to worry about the length of their XLR cables when recording an action shot, which is especially important for music videos and short films. We are currently using lapel and handheld microphones that have limited use in larger projects. A boom microphone kit will give my students more freedom to be creative.
In addition to creativity, the access to a boom microphone kit would consistent with career preparation in the field of TV Production.
