The majority of the students in my school, come from poverty or low-income conditions. Many don't have enough food to eat everyday. Most of them do come to school everyday and are willing to learn and find out new things. They face many challenges at home, but, at school I want my classroom to be an inviting and safe place for them to come to everyday. The more comfortable that they feel in school, hopefully, more learning will take place for them. If we can catch them when they are younger to love reading, then they will understand how important it is for them to be able to read and open many more doors for them. I loved to read books when I was a child and I still now as an adult love to sit down and read a good book. You can escape to all different kinds of places that you otherwise wouldn't visit. I want to inspire them to become good readers, and then pass it along to the next generation.
