My students are bright, curious, friendly, ambitious young people with a goal of attending college. They are attending a small pilot high school (it is a federally funding public school with a focus on community building and life long learning) that offers students a college preparatory education, which includes the option of taking 6 AP classes. The student population is 96% African-American and Hispanic and 93% low-income.
