Students will have the opportunity to work hands-on with some geometric building tasks, so that they can see that geometry plays in integral role in every structure around us- big, small, essential, frivolous, moving, stationary. After completing their projects, they will continue to build their learning by applying new geometry concepts and skills to the structures they've built, allowing for an on-going learning experience throughout the year. The geometric games will allow continued development of logical thinking and reasoning. The items I've requested allow students to use the 8 mathematical practices, in addition to applying their learning from multiple Geometry State Standards.
