My students live in rural Wisconsin, miles from a public library. Our school strives to make good quality books available, but my students need access to immediate, daily choice of the best books when reading in our classroom. Our classroom library is their lifeline to top-quality, high-interest, grade-appropriate books! With your help building our classroom library, my students can read at their own pace about topics of their choice. A good collection of multiple copies of the best titles by the best authors will make this possible. Through my enthusiastic daily read-alouds, book talks, and demonstration of book love, I hope my students will develop their own love of reading. My mantra: Let them read. Let them choose. Then let them be!
