Our classroom is made up of a diverse group of readers. Students enter 2nd Grade on various reading levels that extend both below and above grade level. They also have a wide range of topics they are interested in. I am hoping to expand our classroom library to reach as many readers as possible. Having a wide range of appropriate books for ALL readers ensures that each student is able to pick out "Right Fit" books in the classroom, and helps instill a love of reading in students! You will notice some books in my project are for emergent readers trying to master their phonics sounds, while other books in the project are chapter books for my book club groups, and some are simply great tools for teaching grammar or reading skills. The collection of books in this project contain high interest topics such as: video games, holidays, cool science facts and superheroes; as well as sought after series such as: Dog Man, Piggie & Elephant, and Pete the Cat. Your support in getting these books in the hands of my students will have a lasting impact on their road to becoming life long readers!
