The fifth graders that I teach Math to are an exciting bunch of students that are eager to learn and have fun at the same time! They come from many different backgrounds and home environments. They like to read books and are always begging to "check out one of my books"!! This keeps me going to the thrift stores searching for their favorites!! They need to have experiences with all forms of Math - especially things that they can touch and feel - to make the abstract more concrete to them. We have iPads and are using them in all classes. It's an exciting time to be a teacher and to teach students! They are the reason for my being a teacher.

About my class
