My students love using technology. Their favorite centers are technology based so why not incorporate technology into everyday lessons. We have a computer center and students enjoy going on educational websites to practice reading and math skills. Some favorite sites are Starfall and Funbrain to name a few. My student's are hands-on learners and the iPad has many hands on activities that could be incorporated into instruction. The iPad will change the way of learning form the beginning of our day to the end. For example with calendar. Instead of a manual calendar we could use the one from Starfall. A volunteer would be able to select the day and answer calendar questions. My students love songs. There are many songs on You Tube dealing with calendar such as "Days of the Week". Students could watch the video and imitate the students in it. Technology is the way of the future and this would be a great way to capture their attention and prepare them for the future all in one.
