Our school, Heber Springs Middle School, is located in the scenic foothills of north central Arkansas. We are surrounded by nature's beauty and are in a rural setting. Our middle school building is housed with 6th through 8th graders. My students are all in the 7th grade. In our school, over 50% of students receive free or reduced price meals. Many of our students come from homes in which they live at or below the poverty level. I have found that my students are interested in life science, but desire more experiences for hands on learning and real life applications of the information being taught.
