My students are in second grade and learning how to organize their work and their tools. They are always full of laughter, fun and energy, if not organizational thoughts. The school has many second language learners, has a high poverty rating, and as such children often tend to be less organized than students from higher income homes. As we use tables everyday in order to better learn to share ideas and thoughts, (as well as eat breakfast as they often don't have any at home) the students have no place to put their personal papers and books. Once they begin learning organizational skills, they love to sort and organize.
