My students enjoy and have come to rely on making their own choices when it comes to where to work in the classroom during individual task time. Having that voice gives them a feeling of ownership and value. Students are more engaged and excited when they directly influence how and where they will do their work, whether they are completing a math activity, illustrating their latest writer's workshop piece, or reading their favorite graphic novel. Flexible seating options are an excellent tool to encourage and enhance personal learning choices. In our classroom of up to 25 students, we need more places to sit... flexibly! The flexible seating options you donate will maximize a child's instinct to move, and pair it with their equally strong instinct to learn. More seating options available to them will spark joy, enthusiasm and a greater ability to spend time on task.
