My students are Georgia born African Americans and Mexicans who live in a low income area. They attend a school with dedicated teachers, but unfortunately for them their home issues tend to take the lead in their lives. My students want to learn and are eager to learn but they also attend a school with little funds and low parent participation. The teachers at my school often spend a lot of our own money to bring learning alive. My students are very appreciative of our efforts and it shows.
