My students are 100% Alaskan Native, 100% low income. Due to the location of our school and village, most students will have little opportunity to ever leave our island. As a result, their worldly experiences are limited. This is where you and I come in. By helping provide my students with the manipulatives and materials necessary to teach and experience science concepts, you can help bring the scientific world to them. Just because they are physically isolated from the world, doesn't mean that they should be mentally. We owe them the opportunity that most of us were already given as a child. You can help bring the world to them, into our classroom, into our community.
