I am requesting a classroom set of ukuleles so that I can teach my students how to play a musical instrument. Learning a musical instrument will enhance their learning by having the students use a higher level of thinking. Students will be using what they learn in music and applying it to playing a musical instrument. Our students will have another way to enjoy music, and they will be able to use their learning if they decide to join a band or orchestra in their later school years. They will be better able to learn to play guitar if they choose to do that later as well.
