The White House is on fire and one thing that First Lady, Dolley Madison, ran in to get, was a painting of George Washington. Can you even imagine learning history with out the many artistic renditions of big events and important people to help you really understand what it was like to be there? These art supplies will allow my students to share what they have learned in a unique way, They can make individual insights visible to all who see their work. Using art mediums can also reinforce learning about how things work. We will use the art supplies to create portraits of people who lived during Colonial times, we will create dioramas that suggest what westward expansion looked like, and what Lewis, Clark and Sacagawea saw. We will use clay to make models of the ear, demonstrating how sound travels through and how we hear. Take away limits of how kids are allowed to express themselves and we truly see learning! Thanks you!
