I love to say I work at a school with some of the best kids. When I was hired here the principal said that the kids were the best kept secret in Jackson. The area is known for the negative, drugs and prostitution to name a few. Unfortunately, that is how much of society also sees them. The lowest of society, good for little else but menial labor, trouble makes that will have 5 minutes of fame on the news and end up in jail or shot. The students I serve are NOT statistics. They are teenagers with desires to succeed, dreams and ambitions for greatness. The streets they live on have produced several doctors, lawyers, businessmen, college professors, engineers, scientist and other productive citizens. Many know that education is the way out of their negative surroundings. My students are Proverbial diamonds in the ruff.
