I am new to this school and I want to implement Math stations in my classroom. Math stations build a sense of community in a classroom while reviewing topics that are hard to master in a one lesson math book format. Building community is vital for students to feel safe and make concrete connections to their learning. With the supplies purchased DAILY students will be exposed to 9 different pieces of the curriculum on top of their regular Math curriculum. The tubs will allow me to keep several lessons stocked and ready to hand out within seconds. This time saver will allow the students more time to work in their groups on the curriculum they are working on. The markers, dice, counters, and place value chart will be in the tubs, so students will be able to manipulate with the materials and build concrete evidence of their understanding. This allows for higher levels of understanding and mastery. With these stations I will be able to reach more than one standard at a time and continually monitor growth and achievement.
