My 3rd graders are wonderful and curious beings. They come from challenging home structures, but are ready to learn once they arrive to school. They truly enjoy listening to me read aloud to them and responding to literature in their writing journals. They are really excited about their third grade year and consider themselves to be in grade 3.5 now since the school year is winding down. Our school is located in an urban area of Chicago. It is a small school with a family-like atmosphere. The students love their school and love to do things that enriches the environment. They work hard at the annual food drive, participating in projects around the school building, and they truly have school pride!
