My students struggle both academically and behaviorally in school. Many are diagnosed with emotional disabilities and learning disabilities. High school presents many challenges for my students. They are working on becoming young adults and transitioning from high school into the real world with sometimes little support outside of school. Many strive to do well in school, but often do not do well due to their inability to complete tasks at hand, focus long enough to understand the content, or respond appropriately to everyday situations. They are truly great individuals who want to do well in school but often become unfocused and frustrated while in class.
