My students are always motivated by pets in the classroom. In the past we have had hermit crabs and hamsters, but never any kind of fish. Our curriculum includes habitats and organisms, and this aquaponic farm will help show children the interdependence between ecosystems. This Back to the Roots Water Garden will be able to house a fish and grow herbs in the classroom. Children will observe the growth of the plants each day, and can become friends with the fish that resides underneath. This amazing fish tank is self-cleaning, which will help greatly in our busy lives. I am looking forward to helping my children learn about plants and animals!
