From my lessons, my English as a Second Language (EL) students will hopefully glean a better understanding of their culture as well as be infused with a better understanding of their unique (bilingual) role in shaping the future of our country as much of the material culled from the Scholastic Action and Scope magazines honors their unique diversity. I'm hoping too that my students can formulate and carry out some of their cultural background ideas within my after-school multicultural class where we design unique personal items such as Mexican Sugar skulls to celebrate familial celebrations such as El Dia de los Muertos as well as other cultural celebrations from around the world.
