This year, I'm collaborating with a classroom to incorporate the concepts of coding into their Language Arts class using the Ozobot Bits robot and the book, Balloons Over Broadway. Students will learn how to code Ozobots by following a color pattern and using a specific code of color to make the Ozobot 'perform' for the audience.
Students will create a 'float' design to attach to the Ozobot robot and show off their coding skills as they work collaboratively to recreate the parade route using code. The project is based on the book, Balloons Over Broadway, which highlights the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in New York City along with the creation of the balloon floats.
Ozobots will float along the parade route for all to see as a culmination of their learning. It's a great way for students to integrate critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration while going through the design engineering process. I'm hoping to receive as many as 6 more Ozobot robots even though I'm only able to request 1 on Amazon.
