My students all have the desire to learn and do well, but at times lack the necessary resources to show their full potential. They come in everyday, sometimes without eating dinner or breakfast, ready to learn and participate in their classes. They are all from low income families in a high gang and crime infested environment. They are not able to go outside for recess or other outdoor activities due to gang influences outside the school. Despite all these disadvantages, they find school as a safe haven and want to experience academic success.

About my class
