In today's very techy world, it is important for my students to have access to good quality headphones. My students are expected to take tests, read, write, and navigate a computer on a daily basis. I currently have enough headphones for one third of my class. These headphones are hand-me-downs from other classrooms. Sometimes they work, and other times they are so busted that the children can't wear them properly. If I had a classroom set of headphones, I would be able to give each child an equal chance to show what they know on a performance task. Students also use headphones to listen to fluent readers on different websites that promote reading. Some students use voice text when writing. Headphones are helpful to have when students need to listen to their writing being read back to them. Having a class set of headphones will launch my students forward in their learning journey.
