The materials were chosen to make social and emotional learning for children fun. The items provide visuals and encourage positive behavior, raises students self-esteem, and help to enhance self-confidence in our students. The books and materials help promote positive behavior in school and different social situations and settings. These resources encourage students to demonstrate kindness towards their peers and process their feelings and emotions positively. These items will encourage positive behavior in our students at school, home, and in their community. These materials will encourage students to utilize strategies to regulate their feelings and emotions in a variety of social situations and settings. Students will be able to utilize their reading, and critical thinking skills to make positive decisions. Students will be able to think before they act. I will create and engage students in lessons utilizing these books and writing prompts. Each lesson will be aligned with American School Counselor Association Mindset and Behavior Standards. These materials will encourage students to continue to embrace diversity and maintain a positive outlook about their future careers. All of the items chosen will help create positive, diverse, and career oriented students and citizens. All of our students are rewarded including students who are making progress toward exhibiting positive behaviors. Our school provides Positive Behavior Support to all of our students. We take pride in helping students look forward to their bright futures.
