A story can be just a story, or it can be an adventure brought to life! My preschool through second grade students love a great story. We learn about books, authors, genres, and a long list of curriculum, but what they love most is following the tale of a character through the ups and downs, funny moments, serious moments, and everything in between during story time. My goal is to create an atmosphere of lifelong readers, but how do I do that? Get the students involved and excited about books! Fun, eye-catching book displays using creative sayings and stuffed animals of the characters or theme. During story time engage the students to get their imagination and creativity flowing. Stuffed animals of popular book characters, puppets, and other physical props can do just that. The story can come to life!
