Over three years ago we had a video production class that would create video morning announcements. These announcements were the highlight of the students' week. This class was canceled, since then all video production has ceased. A group of my ASB students has decided to take on the challenge of creating video announcements themselves. With the lack of resources, we do not have the ability to produce a quality video. These students have had to borrow equipment from friends and family such as cameras, camcorders and tripods. Fortunately, through their determination and dedication they recently and successfully completed one video announcement. With our own camcorder my students will have the opportunity they need to successfully create a weekly quality video announcement for all students and staff to view. This experience will not only allow my students to be creative but engage our entire student body as well. This hands on experience teaches my students to plan, organize and collaborate with one another. This opportunity could not only lead to a career in video production but all the skills they are learning will help them throughout their life.
