Scholastic Scope will give my students the opportunity to build vocabulary and reading fluency, especially with repeated readings, because the content is age-appropriate and interesting AND the reader's theater in each addition provides opportunities to build fluency from repeated readings. If each child has their own magazine each month, they will have the opportunity to delve deeper into the readings and share or read aloud to parents and younger siblings at home as most do not currently live in print rich environments. Inspiring struggling learners to read can change the trajectory of their life. Scope inspires and empowers middle-school students with thrilling multigenre stories and engaging activities that strengthen literacy skills and instill a lifelong love of reading. It will inspire kids to think critically about their world with resources that reflect their lives, interests and identities.
