I am a technology teacher with a background in corporate IT. I teach in an inner city school consisting of students from low-income families. I have started a school technology team with my middle school students. These eager children voluntarily wake up early to learn how to fix computers. This group formed organically by inquisitive students who wanted to learn and frequently generate questions about things they want to learn. As their teacher, I facilitate their learning experience by not only teaching them but also allowing them a hands-on experience. My students are amazing! Two of my students have been given a tech internship at Teachers College at Columbia University this summer. I strive to inspire my students but we really need some equipment to do so. My goal is to give students a shot at one of the one million programming jobs available today. With your help, we can make a difference.
