Reading is one of the best ways to help students improve their language abilities. This is true whether students are working in their native language or are acquiring a 2nd language. Providing compelling and comprehensible reading materials is necessary so that students will both want to and be able to read. These Scholastic classroom magazines in German will fulfill both criteria and will enhance the classroom library which I have already begun to build for my German students. Reading is an integral part of my curriculum. Frequent reading makes students not only better readers but also better writers and better thinkers in their new language.
