My students are diverse. The classes for this project are made up primary students who have been in intensive reading classes and have passed the state test in reading. Many of these students are from low income homes and have learning disabilities, low motivation or low self-esteem. Technology has not played a large part in the education. The school they attend is undergoing great changes and includes a vibrant performing arts and digital design program, as well as a law academy. Students that do not succeed in the state tests often cannot or chose to not take advantage of such programs. This elective class will make excellent use of cutting edge technology and innovative approach in teaching history.
