I teach Biology in Louisiana to high school students. My students come from diverse backgrounds and from all over the world. Each student enters my classroom with a unique story that adds to the excitement of our classroom daily. Since I teach high school students, my students are the "kids" that have not dropped out and been pushed out. My students appreciate being in the classroom and take advantage of the opportunities education can provide. My students attend a high school that has suffered from low test scores for many years. There is a high overturn in the teaching staff and administration. My students know a lot of change. Not only in school, but also in their home life. My students are amazed when people do what they say and when you remember their name. My students yearn to be recognized and appreciated.
