My public school is in a high poverty, high Hispanic ethnicity neighborhood. We have 720 CD to first grade students only. Many come from food insecure homes- in other words meals at school may be the only meals they eat. If they miss breakfast due to transportation issues or other reasons, they do not eat until lunch time, and may not have had dinner the night before.
