Like most little ones, my students enjoy learning new things and having fun with their friends. Unlike many children their age, having fun is not so easy. My school is located in a poor urban community. The students are African American and Hispanic. They receive free breakfast and lunch. Many days it is too dangerous outside for them to play in the carefree way that children should be able to play.
